TALK | Meet the SFT founders!

Skin Food Talk has come into fruition in such an organic way over the last year because we both live and breathe the lifestyle we advocate. We wanted to take the opportunity to have you get to know us a little bit more and how we live our Skin Food Talk lifestyle.

Meet Hayley

Title:

Skin Food Talk co founder, holistic esthetician and therapeutic skin coach

Sign:

Virgo tried and true. My rising sign is Sagittarius and I’m a Libra moon so I’m a good mix but I have a lot of Virgo in my chart which makes me a nurturing, earth loving super female!

Spirit Animal:

Bear! I was obsessed with Winnie the Pooh growing up and so my nickname has always involved the word bear. I am sweet and snuggly!

Food you can’t live without:

I always have sweet potatoes, bananas, spinach and avocado in my kitchen. Can I consider coffee to be a food? That I certainly can’t live without.

Favorite Potion:

The spirit dust by Moon Juice and Tocos by Sun Potion are my two go tos always.

Mantra:

I have several, the one that resonates the most with my work and lifestyle is “We rise by lifting others” My life’s mission is to help people find their self worth and spread uplifting energy around like confetti. We deserve to feel our best all the time.

Philosophy for health:

It’s 80/20 as none of us are perfect, we have to enjoy all parts of life but if the good outways the sinful that’s okay. I also believe that we are always evolving so don’t be afraid to reevaluate and start something new. That’s where a wellness community comes into play to help support you while you keep transforming into a better you.

Skin care routine:

Consistent and full of self love! I gentle cleanse with Tammy Fender’s purifying cleanser, De Mamiel’s cleansing balm or May Lindstrom’s The Clean Dirt. I always take about 1 - 5 minutes to wash my face and just breath through it, it’s my meditation. I follow up with a rose water toner that I got in Todos Santos, Mexico that is super refreshing and immediately calming to my senses. After that I nourish with an antioxidant rich serum or resurfacing oil such as Pai’s rosehip oil. I finish with a balm or SPF depending on what is going on that day for me. I keep my toner with me all day and continue to mist if I’m feeling dehydrated.

Fav self care practices:

I really love to foam roll which my husband introduced me too. It helps with myofascial release before and after a workout. Epsom salt baths are a must for me as well followed by a hot and cold shower flush. I do a face mask once a week and my favorite is definitely Josh Rosebrook’s Active Enzyme Exfoliator. I use the pomodoro method of working so it’s 25 minutes on followed by a 5 minute break so I will make sure to shut my eyes and meditate during those 5 minutes so I get a few minutes of self care during the work day. I grew up dancing so something that means just turning on some Beyonce and moving my body! Otherwise my skincare routine has been my favorite self care practice since I was 10, I never miss it and it helps me reconnect with myself in an immediate calming way.

hummus or avocado

Favorite potion:

Brain dust mixed with a little coconut oil in my coffee or Sun Potion’s He shou Wu

Mantra:

“may the space between where I am and where I want to be inspire me”

Philosophy for health:

Make mindful and conscious decisions, eat real whole foods, love yourself and be grateful for every day!

Skin care routine:

My routine changes based on where I am and how I feel but right now Easy does it face wash by One Love Organics, Epi peel by Tammy Fender once a week, Pai rosehip oil at night and Pratima’s sunscreen by day. Every day, always, a tablespoon of coconut oil (Conscious Coconut is my fav).

Fav self care practices:

Yoga to help me get out of my mind and find strength, it's really helped me get through past trauma’s and calm anxiety. I also find journaling helpful when I need to make decisions or let off steam. And taking a bath in Epsom salts or one of Pursoma’s beautiful blends helps me relax and breath a little deeper, I try to do this at least once a week.
